2016 – Local Services Tax Withholding – Harrisburg

Dear Employer,

The City of Harrisburg has adopted a new Local Services Tax rate for the current year. The new rate is retroactive to January 1, 2016. Your business must withhold and report this tax for employees in compliance with Pennsylvania law.

The annual LST rate is $156. The tax must be withheld and submitted for all of 2016. You may continue to withhold at the current rate of $1 per week between now and June 30, 2016. Your business must begin to withhold the tax at $5 per week per qualifying employee starting July 1, 2016.

This notice serves as a reminder that businesses operating in Harrisburg must file Local Services Tax payroll withholdings for employees with annual earned income over $24,500.
