HARRISBURG – Mayor Eric Papenfuse is calling for public input on revisions to the Harrisburg School District’s Recovery Plan passed Wednesday night that acknowledges the schools will not meet academic goals set in the initial blueprint.
In a letter sent Thursday morning to Carolyn Dumaresq, Acting Pennsylvania Secretary of Education, the Mayor expressed serious concerns about the acceptance of weaker academic benchmarks in the revised plan, and he called for public input so that parents fully understand the ramifications of the changes.
