AFRICAN-AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION SLATED FOR MONDAY AT CITY HALL

“Remembering Our Ancestors” is the theme of the African-American History Month Celebration slated for noon Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 at the MLK Government Center, 10 N. Second St., Harrisburg.

GIANT Foods is serving as a sponsor and will provide refreshments for the event that will include performances by students of the Nativity School, Poet Carla Christopher-Waid and the Ugandan Children’s Choir.

“We urge people to join us at City Hall for this tribute to African-American history,” said Mayor Eric Papenfuse, who will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event. “It is fitting that we remember the great men and women who are a part of the history of our city and our nation.”
