Harrisburg, PA –  Mayor Eric Papenfuse will provide details on the July 4th Food Truck Festival press conference at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in the atrium of the MLK City Government Center, 10 N 2nd St.

The Mayor will be joined by representatives from the Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitor’s Bureau and the Pennsylvania Housing and Finance Agency. In addition to the press conference, two of the participating trucks will be stationed outside City Hall, including the Pretzel Spot Café and Big Chipper’s BBQ.

Farm Show Milkshakes from the PA Dairyman’s Association also will be outside City Hall for the press conference, and Alex Allegra will provide musical entertainment.

“We are preparing for an incredible July 4th celebration,” said Mayor Papenfuse. “Last year’s festival drew nearly 25,000 visitors, and we are expecting an even larger crowd this year. I would like to give a special thanks to our title sponsor, the Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitor’s Bureau, for its help in making this event possible.”

This year’s festival will be 3-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 4. It will include nearly 40 food trucks with items such as artisanal grilled cheese sandwiches, slow roasted beef on brioche rolls, crab cake sandwiches, fish tacos, stuffed pretzels, wraps and Reuben sandwiches. Festival favorites such as kettle corn, cotton candy, fried Oreos and funnel cakes also will be available, along with Farm Show milkshakes.

Live musical performances will be featured on the Market Street Stage and in the acoustic music tent. Free Children’s Festival activities include face painting, caricature artist, balloon artist, and a bounce house.

The festival will conclude with two fireworks displays. The Harrisburg Senators will launch fireworks at the end of their game. Immediately following the Senator’s fireworks, the City will launch the July 4th fireworks show, at approximately 9:15pm. This year’s fireworks show is produced by Bixler Pyrotechnics and will include over 1,000 shells launched from the City Island beach.
