Central PA Friends of Jazz launches the 38th annual Jazz Festival July 5 through 8 with performances all over Central PA. This year’s events promise to create a joyful four days of music and fun celebrating America’s original art form.

Friday, July 6:Jazz Party from 7 p.m. to midnight at Appalachian Brewing Company’s Abbey Bar, 50 N Cameron St., Harrisburg. The Party opens with a set by Cathy Chemi (vocal), Tom Strohman (sax), Jim Miller (bass), Bill Tesar (drums), and Steve Rudolph (piano). The Andrew Loose Quartet will feature Andrew (trumpet), Mark Hunsberger (drums), Andy Alonso (bass) and Connor Rohrer (piano). Guitarist Gavin Horning leads his quartet for the final set, followed by an open jam session for jazz musicians of all skill levels. Tickets are $15 general admission and $12 for CPFJ friends, $6 students. CPFJ thanks Appalachian Brewing Company for their support.
