The Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra will culminate a long-standing tradition of presenting free outdoor concerts around the Independence Day holiday with a performance in Reservoir Park on the evening of Wednesday, July 4.

The Symphony’s Tony Award-winning Maestro, Stuart Malina, will lead the orchestra. Joining the orchestra this year as vocalist will be local favorite, Diane Wilson Bedford. Well-known local personality, Perky Scott, will serve as emcee.

Prior to the concert, the Ja’Kye Holmes Tri Youth City Choir will perform at 6:30. Camp Curtin BBQ will provide food and beverage.

The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by the city’s annual spectacular Independence Day Fireworks show.

Reservoir Park is one of the best locations in Harrisburg from which to view the fireworks. The performance is FREE to one and all and the entire community is invited to grab their lawn chairs and a blanket and enjoy an evening of familiar, family-friendly patriotic “music under the stars.”

Prior to the Reservoir Park concert, the Orchestra will also present concerts in Lemoyne (June 30), Carlisle (July 1), Lebanon Valley College (July 2), and Millerstown (July 3). More information at HarrisburgSymphony.org.

The orchestra’s appearance in Reservoir Park is being sponsored by the Dauphin County Commissioners, Orrstown Bank, Faulkner Subaru, UPMC Pinnacle, and Gunn Mowery LLC.
