Harrisburg ‘s professional, regional opera company is launching their comeback by reviving it’s Opera in the Park annual concert event on Sunday, August 19th at 4 PM at Italian Lake. A past favorite for Harrisburgers, this concert is free to the public and offers an accessible, fun perspective for opera novices and aficionados alike.
This year’s theme, Looking Forward, will feature roughly 70 minutes of classical opera, contemporary opera, musical theater and cabaret works that look toward production! This also marks the first time original compositions will be featured at this event. Local artists include Michael Gamon, Director of the Center for the Creative Arts at the Harrisburg Academy, as narrator, Hannah Shea, mezzo soprano and Greg Strohman, accompanist. Regional artists include Timothy Lafontaine, baritone, native Harrisbuger Tami Swartz -‐ director and soprano, and Metropolitan Opera tenor Adam Klein. HOA representatives will be on hand at the concert to answer any questions or receive donations. See you there!

Attire: Casual Picnic, Hawaiian Luau or whatever floats your boat on a beautiful summer afternoon!
What to Bring: There will be bench seating for 80 audience members on a first come first serve basis, but there are also nice grassy areas to sit, as well. Picnic blankets, picnic food and lawn chairs are most welcome.
