GOVERNOR TOM CORBETT JOINS MAYOR ERIC PAPENFUSE, CITY AND COUNTY OFFICIALS TO ANNOUNCE END OF RECEIVERSHIP
HARRISBURG, Feb. 21– Governor Tom Corbett will join Mayor Eric Papenfuse, city and county officials at a press conference at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the atrium of the MLK Government Center, 10 N. Second St., to announce the end of the Receivership for the City of Harrisburg.
“We have been informed that Judge Bonnie Leadbetter on Tuesday signed the court order officially ending the Receivership,” Mayor Papenfuse said. “This is a development of monumental importance for the people of Harrisburg and for the city’s future.”
In addition to Governor Corbett and Mayor Papenfuse, Gen. William Lynch, who has served as Receiver since September 2011, will speak at the press conference. Harrisburg City Council members and Dauphin County Commissioners also will attend the event.
