Dec. 4, 2018 Harrisburg, PA – Mayor Eric Papenfuse and the Mayor’s Interfaith Advisory Council will lead the City’s annual Giant Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, in the atrium of the MLK Government Center, 10 N. Second St.

“Let There Be Peace on Earth” is the theme of this year’s celebration, which is sponsored by Giant Foods.  The company donated the 26-foot-tall tree as a gift to the City in December 2014 during Mayor Papenfuse’s first year in office.

The Mayor will offer remarks at the event, and members of the Mayor’s Interfaith Advisory Council will offer words of inspiration.  Christyan Seay, artistic director of the Capital Area Music Association (CAMA), and Esmeralda Hetrick, publisher of La Voz Latina Central, will sing holiday songs for the occasion.
