MAYOR ERIC PAPENFUSE WILL CUT RIBBON TUESDAY AT OPENING OF HARRISBURG OFFICE OF TURKISH CULTURAL CENTER OF PENNSYLVANIA

HARRISBURG – Mayor Eric Papenfuse will lead official ribbon-cutting ceremonies at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the opening of the Turkish Cultural Center, 500 N. Third St., and 7th floor.
“We are pleased to welcome the Turkish Cultural Center to Harrisburg and look forward to their becoming an integral part of our city,” said Mayor Papenfuse. “We know the Center will help attract international investment to our city and help support our economic recovery.”
The ribbon-cutting event also will include refreshments and remarks from several community and political leaders.
The Turkish Cultural Center also will participate in the 5th annual Turkic Cultural Day in the Rotunda of the State Capitol on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.
The Turkic Cultural Day is being sponsored by the Council of Turkic American Associations, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, nonpartisan, non-governmental educational council that promotes Turkic American culture and heritage.
CTAA is the largest and most influential Turkic American grassroots organization in the northeast region of the United States of America. Working in coordination with member organizations and supporters throughout the northeast region and affiliated organizations around the nation, the CTAA aims to ensure that Turkic- Americans preserve the rich heritage of their values and cultural traditions.
