Mayor Papenfuse Announces Healthy Harrisburg Program with Pinnacle Health at Press Conference Today!

HARRISBURG – Mayor Eric Papenfuse will announce a new initiative to promote health and wellness in the City of Harrisburg in collaboration with Pinnacle Health at a press conference at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Atrium of the MLK Government Center, 10 N. Second St.
Healthy Harrisburg is a new program to provide information on health and wellness to city residents beginning with a series of public forums in the Atrium of the MLK Government Center that will be held each Thursday through July.
Dr. Kara D. Nguyen will lead the first discussion after the press conference on the topic of “World Class Fertility Care Close to Home.”
In addition, Pinnacle Health will open a kiosk in the Atrium that will have information about a variety of health issues and resources for city residents. Pinnacle Health’s kiosk will feature brochures, fact sheets and up-to-date information on health care services in the Harrisburg region.
“We thank Pinnacle Health for partnering with the city in this Healthy Harrisburg program,” said Mayor Eric Papenfuse, “and we appreciate the many ways that Pinnacle Health has stepped forward to help the city on its road to economic vitality.”
Pinnacle Health has provided free pre-employment health screenings for police and fire recruits, resulting in significant savings to the city. And Pinnacle Health now is planning free wellness screenings and educational luncheon seminars for police that are expected to being in the fall.
