HARRISBURG – Mayor Eric Papenfuse will announce details of the 2014 Kipona “Sparkling Waters” Fest that will be held Labor Day weekend on City Island and Front Street at a press conference at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the atrium of the MLK Government Center, 10 N. Second St.
“We have an exciting lineup of entertainment and activities that will make this a truly memorable Labor Day weekend,” said Mayor Eric Papenfuse. “There are activities to attract all ages and interests, from the 3 on 3 basketball tournament, to Capital Region Water’s Conservation Station to the Divas concert. This is a Kipona Fest you won’t want to miss!”
Papenfuse will be joined at the press conference by newly announced major sponsors of the event, including the Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitor’s Bureau, Ford, WGAL and Pennlive.
Officials also will provide details of new activities and events that will make up the Kipona weekend. In addition, new details will be available on the closing of Front Street and traffic routing during the festival.
