Jan. 9, 2017 Harrisburg, PA – In recognition of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, Mayor Eric Papenfuse today commended Chief Thomas C. Carter and the officers of the Harrisburg Police Department for their outstanding work serving the people of the City of Harrisburg.
“I urge all residents to use the day to express their appreciation to Harrisburg police and to support their efforts to protect our City,” said Mayor Papenfuse. “We should be proud of the quality of our police force and its leadership.”
The Pennsylvania State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police has suggested the following ways to honor police today:
- Thank a police officer
- Change your social media profile picture to one that supports police
- Send a card of thanks to local law enforcement
- Post a positive story on social media about law enforcement
- Wear blue
