Members of the Capital City Paid Firefighter’s Association IAFF Local 428 voted to accept difficult concessions to ensure the City of Harrisburg can move into economic recovery with a balanced budget.  “This is not a time to celebrate,” Papenfuse said at the ceremony, in recognition of the firefighter’s sacrifice on behalf of the city in accepting the contract offer.

The formal announcement was made at a press conference in the atrium of the MLK Government Center on Tuesday. City Council must also vote to accept the agreement.
