Mayor Papenfuse Says City Will Continue to Protect Citizens With Legal Gun Ordinances

Mayor Eric Papenfuse, members of the Harrisburg City Council and concerned citizens appeared in the court of Judge Andrew H. Dowling on Friday, Feb. 6, to support arguments to maintain gun ordinances that protect public safety.

The Mayor is defending the city, its residents and workers against an NRA lawsuit that seeks to force the city to allow discharge of firearms in public parks and mandate gun owners report lost or stolen weapons within 48 hours. In addition, the NRA is fighting city ordinances that mandate minors with weapons be accompanied by adults.
