Mayor Eric Papenfuse expresses his gratitude to veterans throughout the nation on Veterans Day, and especially to Harrisburg residents who have served our nation with honor.
“As we commemorate Veterans Day, let us remember the great sacrifices our veterans and their families have made to protect our country and to ensure our freedom,” said Mayor Papenfuse.  “Our nation would not exist without these brave men and women who have so nobly defended us at home and abroad.”
Mayor Papenfuse extended special thanks to Harrisburg’s veterans and called upon residents of the City take time on Veterans Day to thank their friends, neighbors, and relatives who have served in the armed forces.

“We owe so much to their selfless sacrifice,” said Mayor Papenfuse. “Today and every day, let us remember to say the simple but meaningful words, ‘Thank you for your service.’”
