Mayor Eric Papenfuse will join Mayors Kim Bracey of the City of York and Rick Gray of the City of Lancaster at the State of Our Cities event sponsored by the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC from 8-10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 at the Hilton Harrisburg Hotel, 1 N. Second St.

The Mayor also will keynote a separate State of the City event to benefit a coalition of Harrisburg non-profits on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at the Camp Curtin YMCA, 2135 N 6th St. Doors open at 8 a.m. and the Continental Breakfast starts at 8:20 a.m. The theme of the event is “Strengthening Our Roots as a City and Region.”

“I am delighted to be able to participate in these two events to highlight Harrisburg’s great recovery,” said Mayor Papenfuse. “The panel discussion with Mayors Bracey and Gray will help us share our success with a regional audience, and the State of the City at the YMCA will allow us to support our local non-profits, which are providing badly needed services to our residents.”

The State of Our Cities breakfast will have a regional focus and will attract people from throughout Central Pennsylvania. The State of the City address is being organized by the Camp Curtin YWCA and will benefit several non-profits, including the Camp Curtin YMCA, Women of Color Network, the African American Chamber of Central PA, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Central PA, the Harrisburg Police Athletic League, the Central PA LGBT Center and the Latino Hispanic American Community Center.

“I urge businesses in our region to support both these worthwhile events as we continue to strengthen Harrisburg’s recovery as an anchor of our entire region,” Mayor Papenfuse said.
