HARRISBURG – Mayor Eric Papenfuse will welcome the “Rotary Belle” painted cow to the MLK Government Center during ceremonies at 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Mayor Papenfuse and Rotary Club of Harrisburg President Karen Snider will unveil Rotary Belle in her new home just outside the entrance of the MLK Government Center, 10 N. Second St.

Rotary Belle was created in 2005 during Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts’ Cow Parade fundraising drive.  Pennsy Supply is donating the concrete slab where Rotary Belle will stand in her new home.

During the ceremonies on Monday, the Mayor also will thank The Rotary Club of Harrisburg and District 7390 for their support of the city through service projects.

“We especially want to thank the Rotary volunteers for adopting the Victims Room in the Public Safety Building,” Mayor Papenfuse said. “This is a great service to our police officers and to our community.”

The Rotary Club of Harrisburg is collaborating with the City to renovate the Victims Room, where people who have been victims of crimes wait to meet with police officers.

Reynolds Construction Company is partnering with The Rotary Club of Harrisburg to repaint the room, install new carpet and ceiling tiles
