The Emergency Management team for the City of Harrisburg has been closely monitoring the weather and forecasts of possible flooding. Currently, the river is forecast to crest at 18.1 feet Thursday evening. Residents of Shipoke neighborhood and the 3200 block of Green and 2nd Streets are especially advised to stay tuned to weather reports.

City Island parking will be closed when the River reaches 17 feet.

The City is also monitoring Paxton Creek, which typically floods Maclay Street in the 1000 block, as well as Cameron and Calder Streets. The Cameron Street corridor will be affected by the rising creek and river levels. Some disruption to businesses and traffic on the Cameron Street corridor could occur if the river level rises above 18 feet.

Where are people suppose to park if they already have paid for a monthly pass to park at City Island? We are left hanging without further directions. Again … where do we park tomorrow morning (Thursday)?
