New Year’s Eve

On December 31, 2019, the City of Harrisburg will be celebrating the New Year from 9pm – 12am at the MLK City Government Center, located at 10 N. 2nd Street.

Overview

Celebrate the New Year in Downtown Harrisburg with a strawberry drop, fireworks, Countdown to Kid-Night and more! Activities will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2019 from 9pm-12am at the City Government Center and the portion of Second Street directly in front of it. A full schedule of events is below.

NYE Celebration (in front of City Government Center)

10pm – DJ

11:59pm – Strawberry Drop

12am – Fireworks

Countdown to Kid-Night (inside City Government Center)

9-11:30pm – NYE party hat kid’s craft, giant yard games, photo booth and more

10pm – Balloon drop featuring 1,000 balloons followed by a milk & cookies toast and dance party

Parking

$10 Event parking provided by SP+ Municipal Services will be available in the Market Square garage from 5 pm – 5 am. Road closures will include 2nd Street from Chestnut to Walnut. Access to the Market Street garage will be available.

Road Closures

Beginning at 6 pm, 2nd Street from Chestnut Street to Walnut Street will be closed. Second Street from Market to Walnut will be closed. Traffic will be permitted to enter the Market Square Garage or to detour West onto Blackberry Street if exiting the garage.  Market Street from Front to Second will be closed.

The City of Harrisburg relies on community partners to produce the NYE Celebration. Sponsors may receive extensive media coverage, booth spaces at the event, promotional listings on billboards and marketing materials and much more.
