HARRISBURG – The city atrium explodes in rhythm and motion as Lara Vracarich and friends bring world dance and music to the MLK Government Center in celebration of upcoming Kipona – Sparkling Waters Festival. Enjoy the unique expressions of diverse cultures and sample foods from around the world as our artists present a sampler of the events to be presented at “SOUL TO SOLE” DANCE FESTIVAL Aug 31-Sept 1 – City Island Riverview pavilion and stage.
Lara is passionate about sharing the joy of expressive and multicultural dance and rhythm with people of all ages. She has performed multicultural dance at the World Peace Festival, The Community Education ETC. Performance Series, Poetry in Motion and at the Fringe Festival with Plum Dragoness, and at Common Ground Spiritual Community, all in Philadelphia. She has performed at the Little Buffalo festival, the Mother Earth Harvest Festival, the Autumn Goddess Retreat, The Rock the Sisterhood Conference, and The Whitaker Center, in Harrisburg, PA. She has performed Flamenco with Flamenco Aqui y Ahora and Mojo Flamenco of Harrisburg and Tres Compadres of Philadelphia, and West African Dance with Ballet Benkadi of Colorado (originating in Mali), NAYO African Drum Ensemble of Harrisburg, Bumbada Women’s drummers, Ubaka Hill and others. She has a degree in Human Development: Dance Therapy and offers workshops in expressive, therapeutic and multicultural dance and rhythm.
Our Brown Bag Lunch; city atrium series is designed to bring a diverse myriad of speakers and performers to enlighten, educate, and entertain city residents over lunch at no charge, the first and third Friday of each month.
