City of Harrisburg Launches New and Improved Website  with Enhanced User Experience and Accessibility

HARRISBURG – City residents can now enjoy a streamlined online experience on the new City of Harrisburg website (https://harrisburgpa.gov).

The site now makes it easier to report issues, pay bills, and find city information such as permits, street sweeping schedules, special events and important announcements.

Launched on June 17, 2021, the new and improved website provides greater accessibility to important information, updates, and resources for businesses, residents and visitors. The site boosts enhanced mobile responsiveness and a user-friendly navigation to quickly access better-organized content on services.

“As a city dedicated to serving our public with essential services, we know that providing quick and easy access to important information is a key factor in how we provide the best possible customer service to our businesses and residents,” said Mayor Eric Papenfuse. “Our new website ensures greater accessibility 24/7.”

Community feedback helped in shaping the website layout and structure. The comprehensive homepage navigation bar enables website visitors to reach their desired content faster and with less clicks. A featured resources section includes links to high traffic pages, including bill paying, document search, and trash & recycling. A language button at the top of the webpages allows for several translation options to better serve the increasingly diverse community.

The website also reveals the City of Harrisburg’s new marketing logo, designed for promoting its vast resources and offerings. The city will continue to utilize its city seal on formal documents. For the development of its website and logo, the City enlisted the design talents of Gavin™ (http://Evolving-influence.com), a boutique brand communications agency specializing in government, education, healthcare, and B2B marketing and communications with offices in Harrisburg, York and Lancaster.

“Today’s cities are facing increasing demand by their publics to offer greater accessibility and responsiveness, making a highly-functioning website essential to government success in serving their publics’ needs in real time,” Gavin CEO/President Mandy Arnold said. “The City of Harrisburg’s new website provides the city improved flexibility as the needs of the public continue to evolve.”
