Due to the extreme rise in temperatures that is expected this week in the City of Harrisburg, trash pick-up will begin at 4am from city residents.

This change will last the week of Tuesday, July 19 to Friday, July 29. Please plan accordingly.

“We’re expecting humidity levels at or near 100 percent,” said Public Works Director Dave West. “When that happens, we try to get our guys out there early so they can finish early before it gets too hot.”

West added extra water and Gatorade was purchased for the sanitation team this week to help work through and recover from the hot conditions.
