HARRISBURG – Harrisburg City Council is taking applications for its recently vacated position.

Former City Council member David Madsen resigned on Tuesday, January 3, to be sworn in as State Representative for the 104th District. In order to fill his spot, Harrisburg City Council must accept applications from the public for a ten-day period.

The application process is open from January 3 through January 13.

Applications are available in the office of the City Clerk, on the 3rd floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. City Government Center. They can also be downloaded on the Harrisburg City Council website. All applications must either be returned to the Office of the City Clerk, or a completed PDF must be sent back to [email protected] or [email protected], by January 13.

Selected applicants will be asked to interview with Harrisburg City Council during the January 24 work session, with a selection and swearing-in scheduled for January 25.

The position will be up for reelection in 2023.
