{HARRISBURG} — Grab those swimsuits and floaties; Jackson Lick Pool is opening for the summer. Families in Harrisburg will have a great place to cool off and have fun over the next few months.
The Jackson Lick Pool is opening Wednesday, June 12, and will remain open through Sunday, September 1. The pool will operate from Noon to 6pm from Tuesdays to Sundays. It is closing on Mondays.
Daily rates for families are $2 for children 3 to 17 years old, $4 for adults, and FREE for children ages 2 and under. There are two Community Days during the summer where families come for free: Wednesday, July 10 and a date in August still to be announced, Mayor Wanda R.D. Williams confirmed on Tuesday.
“As long as I can remember, Jackson Lick Pool has been a place where the community could come together. Families and friends would come to enjoy the cool water on a hot summer day,” Mayor Williams said. “Growing up in Uptown, this was our pool, and I am thrilled to say that today, Jackson Lick is Harrisburg’s pool, where everyone from the city is invited.”
Renovations
This summer, Harrisburg families will be able to enjoy a Jackson Lick Pool better than ever. Renovations done this spring throughout the pool facility, include:
- Fresh paint job inside the pool, inside the bathhouses, and outside the office, bathhouse, and concession stand
- Roof repairs to bathhouse roof
- New shower heads in men’s and women’s bathrooms
In addition to public use, Jackson Lick Pool is opening for multiple summer programs. Each Wednesday, the City’s Summer Enrichment Program will use the pool for swim lessons. It will also act as a central hub so kids from other summer camps going on throughout the city can interact with each other, and cool off in the summer heat.
Also, the popular Aqua Zumba class is back every Saturday from 10-11am. Registration is required. Sign up at the city’s community recdesk page.
