Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Have knowledge of methods, techniques and tools used in the construction and maintenance of parks, landscaping areas and related facilities preferred, the ability to understand instructions in oral and written forms, the ability to perform manual work requiring physical dexterity and/or balance for extended periods of time, and the ability to enter data
Compensation
The hourly rate for this part-time seasonal position is 16.00 per hour.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
This position performs work of a routine and repetitive nature in maintaining green- space and the cleanliness, safety, and sanitary conditions of City parks. Employees in this classification report to the Facilities Director.
JOB LOCATION/ EQUIPMENT:
Work in this classification involves the use of hand tools, ladders and other miscellaneous equipment. Employee may be exposed to dust, dirt, fumes and adverse work and weather conditions. Duties are typically performed weekdays in a 6-8hour shift from April through September.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work involves but is not limited to the following: care of newly planted trees, placing No Parking signage up in advance of contract work, puts up, checks and replaces circle traps and fly paper around City trees. Help with volunteer events. Assists with tree inspections and GPS mapping of the location of trees. May also assist in administrative tasks that support the City Forester. Maintains regular, punctual and predictable attendance. Reports to work and remains at work in a productive condition which includes not being under the influence or impaired by the use of alcohol and/or drugs. Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with supervisors, co-workers and the general public. Completes all assignments in an efficient, consistent and timely manner.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Occasionally assists building maintenance mechanics with non-skilled tasks. Performs other reasonably related duties in equal or lower classifications as assigned by supervisory personnel.
