Harrisburg, PA – Mayor Eric Papenfuse will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. Monday, June 28 at the MLK City Government Center (10 N. 2nd Street) to announce plans for the July 4th Food Truck Festival & Fireworks.   

This year’s festival will be held Sunday, July 4th from 3 – 9 p.m. in Riverfront Park. It will include more than 30 food trucks with items such as sweet and savory waffles and crepes, crab cakes, pulled pork sandwiches, lobster roll, stuffed eggrolls, tacos and more.  Festival favorites such as burgers, cheesesteaks, fresh cut fries, kettle corn, street corn, hand rolled soft pretzels, fried oreos and funnel cakes will also be available along with Farm Show Milkshakes! Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan menu options will be available. A foodie guide with a complete list of food trucks and menu items is available at harrisburgpa.gov/july4th.

“I’m very excited that the festival will return to beautiful Riverfront Park” said Mayor Papenfuse. “food trucks will be placed to allow more space for line formation, social distancing and picnicking in the park. And, I would like to give a special thanks to our Title Sponsor, Visit Hershey & Harrisburg for their help in making this event possible.”

Non-stop entertainment will be featured on the main stage at Market Street including Shea Quinn, Dillweed, Sound Method, Moe Blues and The Grant Bryan Band. A full schedule and additional information about the musicians performing is available at harrisburgpa.gov/july4th.

Kids zone activities are free and include balloon animals, a patriotic kids craft, caricatures and sidewalk chalk. Captain America and Wonder Woman will be available to meet and take photos with kids from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Families can also head to nearby City Island to take a ride on the railroad, play a round of mini golf or cruise down the river aboard the Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat (subject to availability) and more.

A wine garden featuring local vineyards including Firehouse Winery, J&P Winery, the Winery at Hunters Valley and Cheers to You will also be available. Wineries will offer wine for purchase by the glass or bottles may be purchased to take home. The wine garden will also feature acoustic music by Casey Walton, Dave Thompson, Corty Byron and Hunter Root.

Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:15pm. The 15-minute fireworks show will include over 2,000 shells launched from the tip of City Island, providing all of Riverfront Park with a breathtaking view of the fireworks display.

Street parking on July 4th will be free, parking on City Island will be $5 and there will be $10 parking at the Market Square Garage from 1 p.m. – 12 a.m. Handicapped parking will be available at Front and State Streets. Recycle Bicycle will provide free bike parking at Walnut and Front Street. The train station is a short 10-minute walk from the festival for those that wish to utilize public transportation.
