HARRISBURG – The City of Harrisburg is expecting a large number of outside advocacy groups to rally at the Capitol Complex Monday morning. The Harrisburg Police Department, in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies, is preparing for a significant event that may impact traffic access to parts of the downtown area. Beginning in the morning, barricades will be distributed at various points along Forster, Second, and Third Streets.
“I encourage Harrisburg residents to stay home and not go downtown tomorrow morning if possible,” said Mayor Eric Papenfuse. “While we are hoping for peaceful demonstrations, there will be an increased police presence to direct traffic and deter potentially volatile situations.”
