Francis T. Chardo is the Dauphin County District Attorney.

The Dauphin County District Attorney is elected to a four-year term as the chief law enforcement officer of the county. The District Attorney oversees an office of 31 prosecutors, 12 detectives, and over 30 support personnel. The office handles about 6000 cases each year before the Court of Common Pleas and the appellate courts.

This office works closely with federal, state, and local police agencies in the County in the investigation, prosecution, and prevention of crime. The District Attorney coordinates with the Victim/Witness Assistance Program to ensure that victims of crime have a strong voice in court.
