The City of Harrisburg is committed to sustainability and renewal energy. On 4/22/2021, Earth Day, the City unveiled new ChargePoint Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in the Parking Garage on City Island. These augment the charging stations on 3rd Street in Harrisburg. The City has also begun adding electric vehicles to the City Fleet, reducing the need for gasoline as we begin to alternative fuel vehicles. This was the initial step in a phased implementation, with a goal of switching over light-duty, non-emergency vehicles to electric. The City has outlined a goal of replacing upwards of 40 vehicles with electric vehicles by 2026
