Flags outside the Martin Luther King Jr. City Government are flying at half-staff in memory of the victims of the terror attacks in Israel, by the terrorist group Hamas.
The City of Harrisburg flag, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania flag, and United States flag will fly at half-staff through Friday, October 13.
“The City of Harrisburg stands squarely with the people of Israel, and the thousands of people in the Harrisburg area who have felt the impact of these atrocities committed by Hamas,” said Mayor Wanda R.D. Williams. “Harrisburg’s thriving Jewish population — more than 6,000 strong in the area — is part of what makes our city so great. My heart is broken alongside theirs, and the innocent Israeli citizens who are experiencing this horror.”
Governor Josh Shapiro ordered United States and Commonwealth flags on all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings, and grounds to immediately fly at half-staff through the end of the week.
