HARRISBURG – The City of Harrisburg recognizes the work of Parks, Recreation and facilities staff, who build strong, vibrant and resilient communities through the power of providing a place for children and families to connect with nature.

On July 15th, the Department celebrated its employees’ hard work and dedication to building stronger and healthier communities. The luncheon was held at the City Island Carousel Pavilion, where representatives from Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Deputy Secretary Lauren Imgrund and Parks and Recreation Council Member Jocelyn Rawls joined.

“Our Department of Parks, Recreation, and Facilities is the backbone of the City of Harrisburg. They keep our parks clean and active, give our kids a safe place to play, and put our events at the top of the class. They are truly second-to-none,” said City of Harrisburg Mayor Wanda R.D. Williams. “I am so grateful for the work they do every day in making Harrisburg the special place it is.”
