We have an update on electric, plumbing bids for the Broad Street Market temporary tent.
On Friday, January 5, City of Harrisburg procurement officials received one bid to do electric work inside the tent structure. The bid, which belongs to KCS Electric LLC, was formally recorded by Mayor Wanda Williams, City of Harrisburg Auditor Michael Thomas, and Procurement Services Manager Hillary Greene. THIS DOES NOT REPRESENT AN AWARDING OF THE PROJECT. KCS Electric will now undergo a formal review process to determine their qualifications. If they are deemed qualified, the City will start processing a contract next week. The entire bonding and contract execution phase can take anywhere between 2-4 weeks.
Unfortunately, there were no bids for plumbing. A large part of that has to do with the holidays. The City will repost the plumbing scope on Pennbid on Monday, January 8. There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting to go over the scope of work on January 17 at the tent. INTERESTED CONTRACTORS MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE IF THEY WISH TO BID ON THE WORK. The submission deadline will be January 25 at 11 p.m., with unsealing of the bids taking place the next morning.
