COMMUNITY GLASS MURAL PROJECT
Event attendees will have the opportunity to be part of a community glass mural project during the event. Attendees can stop by the tile making tent with local glass artist, Linda Billet to make their own unique design on glass tiles. These tiles will then be used to create a larger mosaic that will be displayed at a location in the City.
After the event, students entering 4th – 9th grade will be able to help assemble the final mosaic design as part of the 2022 CAIU Summer Camps – Glass Mosaics program. This summer camp program will be held June 20 – June 30. Campers will also create their own unique glass tile designs while assembling the final mosaic. For more information on the program and to sign up, please visit https://caiusummercamps.org/week-of-june-20. Scholarship opportunities for the camp are available at caiusummercamps.org and City of Harrisburg residents can attend for free by emailing [email protected]
This opportunity is made possible through the Capital Area Intermediate Unit Arts in Education and Summer Camps programs, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and City of Harrisburg Special Events Department.
